About Sheep Soup

From the Edinburgh Fringe to the bingo hall, festivals to auditoriums across the country, Sheep Soup fills every venue with their signature brand of genre-busting music theatre. Relatable characters and stories combine with electrifying original music to bring you a night guaranteed to charm your pants off.

We started the company whilst training at the BAFTA award-winning Television Workshop, the East Midlands training ground that counts Vicky McClure, Bella Ramsey and Jack O’Connell among its glittering roster of alumni. We found a passion for taking the naturalistic, improvisation-based training style we had grown up with, and mixing it up with our love of music.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, bringing artists together from a huge range of performance fields to create truly original and inspiring live performance. We love telling stories set where music happens naturally... front rooms, open mic nights, recording studios.. all featuring multi-skilled actor-musicians live on stage.

Our work has been supported by funding from Arts Council England on a number of projects,  won slots at two BEAM musical theatre showcases. Sheep Soup have been finalists in the New Diorama Edinburgh Untapped award, and the Styles & Drewe New Song Prize.
